Sources and databases.

Connect your backup storage. RestoreTrust tests PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB backups, as well as individual files.

Where your backups are stored

Your worker must be able to reach the selected storage from its Kubernetes cluster. Store the credentials there as Kubernetes Secrets.

Backup testsDatabases and files

Which backups you can test.

For a database test, your backup is restored to a temporary database. Your checks then run on the restored data. To test a file without restoring it to a database, choose a file check.

Databases and versions

Select a database to see the available versions for the test environment, including older versions.

Choose the right backup format

For PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB, use SQL dumps on their own or in tar or zip archives. MongoDB requires a mongodump directory in a tar or zip archive.

Backups compressed with gzip, zstd, xz, bzip2, or lz4 are also supported, as are password-protected ZIP archives and backups encrypted with age. Store passwords and decryption keys as Kubernetes Secrets in your cluster.
